About Us
Welcome to the Eastern Sierra Unified School District; home of four wonderful communities including Bridgeport, Coleville, Lee Vining, and Benton. Our district encompasses 3,000 square miles of exquisite beauty. Our District is home to the following school sites starting from the most Northern point of our district: Coleville High School and Antelope Elementary School in Coleville; Bridgeport Elementary School in Bridgeport; Lee Vining High School and Lee Vining Elementary School in Lee Vining; and Edna Beaman Elementary School in Benton.

Though we have four uniquely different communities within our boundaries, ESUSD continues to maintain the same set of professional and academic standards for all our sites. Our district continues to set meeting the needs of all students as a top priority on our list. We have embraced the 21st Century Skills and provided each of our students 1-1 technology. Our staff works extremely hard to ensure the rigor and academic value for all students is met.

Our district believes that it is important to not only provide academia to our students, but also support our students’ social and emotional needs. All ESUSD staff has received two years of training in Seven Mindsets. Our ultimate priority is to ensure the safety of all students and staff. All staff have been ALICE trained (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate).

At ESUSD, we believe in community partnerships and seeking the input of each of our four communities. We hold bi-annual Community Forums at each of our sites, as well as multiple LCAP, ELAC/DLAC and PTO meetings. We understand that educating a child takes the effort of our school staff, community support and most importantly parent involvement.

I feel honored to be the Superintendent to all staff, students, and community members of the Eastern Sierra Unified School District.

Sincerely,

Heidi Torix
