The students can choose a historical figure that goes along with black history month and read about them. Then they can write about how they had to persevere to attain goals. They can even write a comparative paper on the differences and similarities to obstacles people face then and now.
To make a more physical lesson/activity, an obstacle course could be set up using things from the Catch PE program, and the students will have to complete the obstacle course and discuss or write about how and if they had to persevere to reach the end. |
