Students must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid every year. Window opens January 1st DEADLINE is MARCH 2nd.
Filling out the FAFSA determines eligibility for Pell Grants, Cal Grants, and Middle Class Scholarship.
If eligible under AB540 or DACA, students should complete the California Dream Act Application: www.caldreamact.org
Submit electronically for financial aid at www.fafsa.ed.gov
You must create an FSA ID to sign electronically https://fsaid.ed.gov/npas/index.htm
Apply for a Cal Grant-I will upload Cal Grant GPA's electronically for any student who signs and returns the Cal Grant form with their info, including social security number The may download the GPA form below
.DEADLINE for me to upload is March 2. Please submit your form to me before that date.
Once you have submitted both the FAFSA and Cal Grant GPA, you should create a Webgrants 4 Students account to check the status of your financial aid award. https://mygrantinfo.csac.ca.gov/
The college you plan on attending will likely request more information so make sure to check email and college pages (usually under your To Do list or financial aid page) often so you do not miss a deadline!
If your college requests a tax transcript, you can request one online on the IRS webpage: http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript
